Place de la République
Year of completion: 2013
Scope: Water feature design, from concept to detail design and on-site supervision and commissioning
TVK Architects transformed Place de la République into Paris’ largest pedestrian square. The redevelopment is based on the concept of an open space with multiple urban uses. Water is adding a sense of fun and an interactive touch to this very successful project. A circular basin was added around a nineteenth-century statue at the center of the square, while a water scrim flows near a new cafe. Photo credit: Guillaume Clément
