Jean Max LLORCA, JML consultants Founder

was born in Albi, France, in 1947. He began his training in stonemasonry at the EMB (École des Métiers du Bâtiment) in Felletin, France. In 1966 he joined the Jean Noël Workshops where he carried out plasterwork and ornamentation on historical monuments such as the Paris Opera or the pediment of the church of Val-de-Grâce.

Attracted by architecture, in 1970 he joined Roger Anger and Mario Heymann’s practice, collaborating in particular on the Auroville housing estate in Pondichéry with the visual artist Charles Gianferrari. In 1975 he joined Bernard Quiry’s practice, where the famous fountain designer passed down to him his knowledge and passion for fountains.

In 1980, he opened  his own fountain design and engineering practice in Paris. In 1982, Adrien Fainsilber, renowned architect of the  Sciences City Museum at La Villette in Paris, commissioned him to study the watertightness of the Géode basin and all the ornamental fountains design of the project. Over the 1980s and 1990s he was responsible for most of the City of Paris’s large water feature projects, before his work spread to a national and international level.

2001 marked the opening of his Spanish office in Barcelona. Today, JML Consultants works on water feature projects worldwide and is considered as a one of a kind fountain design office.

Stephane Llorca, Director

Graduated in Design and Business Administration, he joined the Paris office in 1996. He gained experience in the French market during five years before establishing the Spanish office in 2001. From Barcelona, he has managed such important projects as the CaixaForum in Madrid with Herzog & de Meuron Architects and the new Fira in Barcelona with Toyo Ito Architects. His international vision has naturally lead him to manage JML International activity. He is now in charge of developping JML overseas.

Arno Villard, Team leader

Graduated in Landscape Architecture (Paris and Montreal).
He joined the team in 2008 . He  worked for seven years in Montreal,QC (Canada) in a Landscape Design Studio, and has acquired a good professional practice. Arno is leading the Creative design and currently manages  serveral international projects.

Tania Sabatini, Water Feature Architect

.
Graduated in Architecture (Rome), she joined the team in 2007. Tania acquired experience in water engineering in TECNICA, a water treatment engineering firm based in Rome. She is involved in the design process and construction management of several projects.

Nic Ashton, Water Feature Architect

.
Graduated in Product Design (Bournemouth), he joined the team in 2009 Nic worked within the facilities managemnt team draughting site schematics and space plans At ‘BP / Johnson controls’ and at ‘Colt’ within the R&D department developing new products for the smoke safety market. He is involved in the design process and construction management.
